WELCOME TO YALHAM HAYES

Sustainable floral designs that minimise environmental impact…

At the heart of our work is a deep respect for nature’s rhythms, for the seasonal blooms, and for the stories that flowers help us tell. Our work is gently guided by our values…

Honouring the seasons
We grow flowers in harmony with the British seasons, honouring the subtle cadence of colour and form that each phase brings. Our designs celebrate what is flourishing here and now, over importing out of season or trends.

Conscious decision making
From field to bouquet, we embrace methods that minimise environmental impact. We do not use plastic floral foam in our arrangements and favour biodegradable materials, locally sourced supplies and regenerative growing techniques — recognising that beauty must also be responsible.

Meaningful flower experiences
Each arrangement, whether for weddings, events or creative workshops begins with genuine curiosity and intuitive design. In every stem and foliage choice, we seek harmony, texture and meaning.

Community & Connection
We are rooted in our landscape and in relationship — with our local economy, our visitors, and the wider flowering world. Sharing flowers, skills, time and inspiration is as important to us as creating striking floral work itself.

Another way is by sourcing from our own flower field. When this is not possible, we use other local growers who share our values in sustainability.

However, occasionally we do purchase imported flowers but with consideration to seasonality and responsible farming.

We also encourage less waste in our flower creations and encourage reuse of flowers after the funerals, allowing sharing of flowers to family and guests.

We know that our journey in sustainability is in its early stages but we continuously strive to develop our skills, and learning from our friends in the industry.

We are hoping for conversations about greener funeral flowers to begin with various communities - funeral directors, local authorities and private companies. We hope to hear from you so we can assist you in delivering a truly compassionate and responsible funeral service.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We believe that a flower farm rooted in the present moment must also cultivate a future that thrives — ecologically and socially.

Seasonal and Local:
We prioritise British-grown, seasonal blooms over imported stems, significantly reducing transport emissions and supporting local ecosystems.

Regenerative Mindset

Our growing practices aim to enhance soil health, encourage pollinators, and work with nature rather than against it — contributing to biodiversity and resilience on the land.

Thoughtful Materials:
From compostable mechanics to recycled packaging, we continually assess our materials to reduce waste and seek better alternatives

Education & Engagement:
Through workshops and experiences, we share sustainable floristry principles — inspiring others to value seasonal beauty and eco-responsible floral design.

We recognise that sustainability is not a destination, but a continuous journey of learning, adapting and doing better. (This ethos mirrors broader UK floral sustainability priorities, such as reducing carbon footprint in the flower supply chain and fostering biodiversity).

Our Aims for the Future

Expand Regenerative Cultivation
We intend to scale our use of regenerative farming methods — enhancing soil life, supporting wildlife habitats, and deepening our connection to place.

Share Our Knowledge Wider
Through richer educational offerings, collaborations and publications, we aim to empower more growers, florists and enthusiasts to embrace seasonal, sustainable floristry.

Celebrate Flowers in New Forms
We dream of immersive garden events, botanical collaborations and installations that speak to the soul — where flowers are not just seen, but felt.

Grow Community & Collaboration
We will continue fostering partnerships with local artists, growers and makers, building a vibrant ecosystem around flowers that amplifies creativity and ecological stewardship.

In Essence

We are flower growers, designers and storytellers — driven by curiosity, grounded in sustainability, and devoted to creating experiences that honour both people and the natural world.

Together, let’s celebrate the art of flowers — both wild and cultivated — with presence, intention and joy.

Floral Design for Weddings & Events

Our bespoke wedding floristry is tailored to each couple’s story, personality and venue. Whether your vision is romantic and classic, contemporary and sculptural, or evocative and wild, our approach combines cultivated blooms with personal symbolism to create immersive floral experiences that feel genuinely you. Every design is carefully considered — balancing colour, texture, proportion and seasonality.

Flower Experiences

We invite people of all experience levels to join us in creative, grounding sessions — from wreath making with seasonal materials to relaxed vase arrangements and flower crowns. These experiences are designed to soothe the mind, spark joy and foster connection through hands-on engagement with flowers.

Pick Your Own Flowers

Our flower fields open during the growing season for guests to wander among blooms and gather their own bucket of stems to take home. These seasonal days bring laughter, connection to nature and simple joy — a floral experience that lingers long after the flowers are arranged.

Workshops & Creative Gatherings

Throughout the year we host curated workshops — from Flower Brunches amidst beautiful blooms, to themed hands-on sessions that pair creative exploration with convivial company. These gatherings invite both folk who love flowers and those discovering them anew.

Driven by our passion

At Yalham Hayes, we hold a deep respect for the natural beauty of each season, we do not follow passing trends - instead, we cultivate something more enduring.

Our work is rooted in the belief that flowers should evoke joy, foster connection, and honour the landscape from which they grow.

We blend curiosity, creativity and a generous measure of heart to bring each idea to life. Every hour spent preparing the field, designing for a wedding or event, or welcoming guests for Pick Your Own is an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to collaborate with nature in creating something meaningful and lasting.

Beauty surrounds us. We are committed to celebrating and safeguarding it through considered, sustainable practices - ensuring that the delight found in seasonal flowers today continues to bloom for generations to come.
