WELCOME TO YALHAM HAYES, SOMERSET
Hi, I’m Aizel
Hello
Aizel Finch started Yalham Hayes Flower Farm in 2020 to create a small flower-growing business mainly for wholesale. Her main aim was to earn while working from her family’s new home and support the local economy.
Since then, Yalham Hayes has grown into a place for enjoyable flower experiences including Pick Your Own Flowers, ‘Create’ Days to celebrate special occasions - birthdays, Hen-Dos etc.
Aizel has also had a pleasure of hosting Gardening Clubs, Mother’s Day events, Oriental Afternoon Teas, Flowerscapes with Thai lunch, and Sunset PYO with Fizz!
Since starting Yalham Hayes..
Aizel has a knack for producing show-stopping flower displays, most recently featuring at The Royal Bath & West Showground and Taunton Flower Show - gaining her award-status recognition in Horticulture.
Her willingness to learn from the best florist mentors in the industry has also given her the opportunity to harness her floristry skills and business expertise.
Presently, a sizable portion of Yalham Hayes is about creating personalised floral designs for weddings and events, where Aizel conscientiously applies a ‘no plastic floral foam’ philosophy.
Gold at Taunton Flower Show 2025
Aizel won a gold medal for her ‘farewell flower’ display at the Taunton Flower Show in 2025. Described as an “exceptional” and “beautiful” exhibit, Aizel was featured in the flower marquee, earning praise for her diverse, pastel-coloured, locally grown flowers.
RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026
Aizel will be back at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year creating ‘A Working Flower Farm.’ For the first time ever, the team of flower growers from FLOWERS FROM THE FARM are installing a miniature flower farm in the heart of Chelsea to demonstrate a powerful truth: That sustainably grown flowers are one of the few commercial crops with a net positive environmental impact.
Throughout the show, we are showcasing:
🌷 Quality: The top standard of stems grown across the UK
🌷 Ecology: Highlighting the vital role flower farms play in British biodiversity
🌷 Economy: Supporting job creation and growth
🌷 Sustainability: Leading the way with 100% foam-free floral design
This a huge opportunity for us as growers and business people to demonstrate the value of cut flowers to both the economy and to the ecology of the British Isles.”
— Georgie Newbery, External Chair
Aizel recently celebrated featuring in the Woman & Home magazine (April 2026 edition) and shares her thoughts:
“There are many great things about the article. All the colours, sun, flowers - it captures a moment of perfection, of a joyous time when everything seemed to come together. Last year was triumphant, but I didn’t really have time to cherish what was happening. It was intensely busy and it was one big blur of doing one thing after another.
To Chris Morley and the editors at Woman & Home, thank you for celebrating women this way. I am grateful to you all for taking notice, and for recording and sharing this moment in time - particularly in this mad world of starting a running a business!
I think I’ve found myself now and the best thing is, I feel like I’m just getting started!”
